What can a fiber laser marking machine do

These systems are air-cooled, requiring no water chiller, and can be configured for 220VAC or 120VAC, single phase operation. Pulse output from a fiber laser is typically considerably shorter than that of a Q-switched YAG laser, but at higher peak power, and frequency. Accordingly, a 20-watt maximum average laser
output power of a fiber laser is comparable to a 50-watt YAG laser. In fact, marking penetration of a 20-watt fiber will exceed that of a 50-watt YAG laser. Equally impressive is that a 30-watt fiber laser, with peak power of 12kW will penetrate twice as deep as the 20-watt system, making it ideal for deep marking applications.

Not only are fiber lasers more energy efficient, but they result in faster processing. Pulse width output from Q- switched YAG lasers are typically longer,  fiber laser marking machine as it takes longer for the pump light energy to propagate through the gain medium, photons to resonate in the laser cavity, and for the population inversion in the molecules of the YAG rod.
Delays must be inherently programmed into the marking system software for YAG lasers to ensure that the scanner positions do not advance before the laser pulse arrives. Photons traveling through the gain medium of a fiber laser do not resonate, but instead make a single pass through the Ytterbium doped glass fiber which is constantly being stimulated. As such, the delays needed for proper operation of a YAG laser marking system are not needed in the fiber
laser. The result is faster marking speeds. Speeds as high as 5 meters per second can be attained.

These systems are also much more quiet during operation than that of a water cooled YAG laser. This not only results from the absence of a water chiller and the large cooling fans in it, but also because the shorter pulses produced by the fiber laser, and the higher pulse frequency of those pulses produce a softer noise during marking operations.
Instead of the obnoxious squeal characteristic of YAG marking at peak Q-switch frequencies, the fiber laser marking generates a subdued white noise, which is more pleasing to the ear.

The compact model is portable, small enough to be transported in the trunk of a car, and easily shipped to trade shows, or carried out in the field or to customer locations as required. The system can be set up on a desk or table top in just minutes. Simply plug the system in to power, turn it on, connect your laptop PC to the system via USB
cable, and start up the software.

These systems are virtually no maintenance systems. Periodically blowing or vacuuming dust and debris from the cooling fan ports to ensure proper cooling, and keeping exposed optics clean, is all that is required. No lamp changes, chilled water, or other consumables are required, resulting in literally years of uninterrupted operation.

As with all our laser marking systems, the fiber laser marking series support bar code marking, date stamp marking, serialization, marking on round or elliptical paths, inverted text, complex logo marking, deep engraving, variable density marking, bitmap image marking, multiple file markings, and many other advanced features. These systems also incorporate user definable I/O data bits for interfacing to production/automation equipment for fully integrated solutions. output of up to 30-watts provide the power needed to quickly process deep marks. Marking depths of 2mm or more can be achieved without refocusing.
